Two or three things on blog writing

In contrary of appearances blog writing is not a simple and naive narcissistic practice. Of cause, the age of the practioner plays a role in this, like in the writing of poetry or diaries for adolesents before, i mean before the end of literary culture.

What strikes me most is profesionalism aspect, fake or not. In fact, the deep motivation is not to be read but to be recognized. The logic is not so far from the logic of scholar articles with all the statistical environment: how many have joined, have cited, and so on. The computarized knowledge police.

To be recognized as a leader blog in one field, that's the point. Blogs are indeed very specialized. Nothing to see with the presentation of a self but the presentation of a knowledge. You have to become a sort of specialized journalist of your own supposed domain and bettter not to escape of it. And if you have more than one idea, make another blog. One blog, one idea. Be competent for the blog challenge.
The dream is to be read as a newspapers on line, or a technical newsletters.
It is interesting also to see the use of blogs as articles in newspapers, version on line, for instance, Le Monde. Quick articles are presented under the blog form. Importation of a new form? It is a way of making fragmentation, the actual screen sensibility. Fragmentation, speed. Fake values. I am dreaming on a blog about slowness.
